I notice you have a lifting beam down the centre of the roof. What sort of weight can you lift from that?

1,5 ton , there’s one in each span and project out the front about 8 ft ,wire feed unit is on sliding door track so runs full length of build , ideal for structural beams

it’s had a flash blast , quick run through the blaster before it’s cut , will then get a light manual blast before painting as it will get a bit if atmospheric rust , would be better in summer really dry atmosphere

Electric was off yesterday 8-3 pm so not much done only headboard and chain down points , That will be it for a week now

we have 2 x saf 600 amp and 2 x Air liquid 450 amps all with separate wire feeders and water cooling , the 2 x 600 we had in the early 90s

Horses for courses though. Hgv trailers need to flex and twist because there isn't much suspension articulation on a truck so beams are the better solution. You don't want tractor trailers to twist so much ideally so why not use box section to begin with. I'm not saying op is wrong it's just different ways of getting to same result.

I have an AS marston grain trailer with chassis made of box and an easterby grain trailer made of channel. The easterby is 10 times the trailer that the AS is.

full commercial axles same as a lorry trailer rated at 11.5 ton each and i will observe the welding zone for hangers in the manufacture instructions

Sounds like plenty capacity per axle but then you think of a slurry tanker, especially when on a stepped axle and you realise they're pushing it a bit.
