Some more sociable than others! And, let's face it, we are all just sociable animals!

Should probably have said, "social"! I firmly believe I have aspers, symptoms being decidedly anti-social.Some more sociable than others!
I disagree that respect is a fear of getting a smack , so you respect an OAP it's because they could give uba thumpWhen you come down to it, isn't respect of a person not the fear of what that person might do or could do? Just thinking how sociable animals gain respect in the herd/pack? It is not always by fighting.
I keep well away from PTO shafts because I know what they can do and so respect them! Same with the blunt end of horses. A certain look from a respected parent will be similar to the bifocal stare of a predator! And, let's face it, we are all just sociable animals!
No, because we have wisdom. The aged have the ability to give a thump without lifting a finger! As a last resort, we can always have a heart attack and get you done for murder.I disagree that respect is a fear of getting a smack , so you respect an OAP it's because they could give uba thump
Very hard on my kids ! ...
This is wife of stepson ...I put my foot down once and we didn't see the kids for 13mths ...its really difficult,
The kids are sent into a school breakfast club at 7am so she can get to London on train and then to afterschool club till 6 when she picks them up .....no way to bring up kids in my thoughts!
You are bang on !Hate to say it but she`s not parenting them, somebody else is.

...at daughters wedding a few weeks ago I said to the youngest ( 6yr old) " what's Father Christmas going to bring you ?
Mother rounded up on me .. Father is a male term ...there is no male or female we are all individuals!....... I give up !

You’ve 2 avenues open there. Firstly is path of meek tolerance, save upsetting anyone. Or, jump in with both feet, really embrace the bullshite, but go further than expected, really push the boundaries, we’re talking rainbow flag tank top and hotpants to the next get together. Start picking her up on it too, get the kids onside. The only way to beat the nonsense is thru humour and mockery. Show it up for what it is.You are bang on !

Trundling along to work and there was the mother with 3 sprogs, 2 walking, one in a pushchair and Mum stuck to her phone.
The kids were eating some takeaway cack and casually dropping the napkins, wrappers and bits of food as they went. That irks me greatly.
I accelerated my step and said to the mother, your children seem to be dropping a trail of litter.
The response was "Well what am I supposed to do about it?".
I suggested, as she was the adult, that she teach her children to either use a bin or take it home.
The following response was laced with expletives and being told to "Mind my own business".
There is little hope.

You never know , she may have reflected on it later and realised the importance of child education and behaviour...... probably not thoughWell done for your efforts, even if they were not successful.
