A petition worth signing I think.

I take it back. It isn't an utterly pointless exercise. At least The Big Issue has had some advertizing revenue. Otherwise, it's pointless.

Adverts exist to make us Dream A Lie. Smoke Marlboro and be as cool as a cowboy. Buy a Merc and be the only driver on the road. Sign this petition and Tesco will drop their 5 carrot growers and instead source from 5000 bright young things. Never mind the GCA, this campaign needs referring to the ASA.

Well minister Spencer has put them straight, zero point in focusing on the GCA, as he quite rightly points out the adjudicator is irrelevant to most farming businesses.

I look forward to your undoubtedly far more effective approach very shortly.

Already done. I told the Efra committee what has to happen last July when they launched the enquiry that led to Guy's petition. I have already told Guy where the petition falls short, he was sat in the audience today, minister Spencer has now told him the same thing: To focus on the GCA is to bark up the wrong tree. I have a note of the MP's who spoke in the debate, they will be getting a copy of my submission from last year along with an update based on today's proceedings.

Had cause to go to our primary school this morning. The free fruit for the kids was at the gate. Bananas and satsumas.

All produce provided through the School Fruit and Veg Scheme should be of UK origin. Doesn't require much effort, the legislation is already in place, just needs pushing. That's how we will build a better food system. One specific measure at a time. The GCA is utterly irrelevant in all of this.

Fair play to Guy for rekindling the debate. It is now vital that he uses the momentum to bring about real change, before we return to the default state of torpor.

Hang on, you told us you were resigning from the forum... 😐
Was it not that potential resigning that sparked a whole load of abuse towards @Panicnow , presumably because people thought he wouldn’t read it?

Clever rather than contemptuous on Peter’s behalf I’d say and it looks like there has been some thawing or the need to wipe some egg off a few faces.

Touché Peter.
