Ok so update- the block- pressure test was all good but bores worn so have elected to have this bored and sleeved, just waiting on this being done and will be nice to keep the original block.
Crankshaft- assumed this would be just a case of being ground to take undersize shells but turns out it's cracked so will have to source another. (At this point a short motor would have been a much better decision purely from a ££ point of view!).
Cylinder head has been overhauled, new valves, seats re cut, new springs and surfaced etc so is ready to go again
Injector pump and injectors fully overhauled
Front axle re bushed along with new king pins/ bushes/ thrust washers and hub bearing re done
Replacement gears and F/R selector sourced and wating being fitted.
Various other "while I'm waiting jobs". Ideally wanted to get the engine rebuilt before tackling the gearbox but am in the queue with the engineering shop and not sorted the crank yet so just in the process of getting the box out and getting that sorted.
Lots more work to date than I was ever expecting and I think really with its issues the tractor should have just been broken for parts but... in for a penny/ in for a pound now so will just keep working my way through things.
