How much per hour for self employed tractor driver just labour driving tractor?
Anywhere from 50p to fifty quid

It depends on multiple variables

How much you want the work and how much the paymaster wants you.

Skills, availability, importance of the job, familiarity, supervision required, etc etc

Do you mean causal labour?
I was told you can't be a self employed tractor driver if you don't own a tractor.
Something something about owning your tools or something.

But I'm sure your not just trying to dodge holiday pay...

If he's "self employed" he'll set his price...
You can be self employed if you have multiple income streams.

Of course you can, anyone can be self-employed, infact you can be both self-employed and an employee at the same time, it's not a problem, that a rarely do they bother about whether you self-employed or not.

It's NI office that bother about the person employing someone to do an employee job by a self-employed person and missing out on the contributions, the actions they take is not against the self-employed person, its the employer they seek out.
They speak to the guy paying, and if deemed to be a job that is not self-employed criteria, they can then not only stop him paying self-employed, but also go back for upto 7 years maximum of the them paying the self-employed guy has been there for National insurance contributions owed by the employer, ie, if they deem they have lost out on 2k a year, and the lad has been working there 5 years, they want 10k off the employer, however they don't touch the self-employed guy as he might well have a proper self-employed business going at weekends or nights,in this case, the guy would be employed Mon to Fri, and self employed at night's end weekends.

Most of you are arguing you van be self-employed, point in case your very true its legal, but that don't mean it's legal to employ a self-employed guy,

I have had first hand experience of this, the inspector came a 9.30 am, and by 12 midday the staff were told, your either employed from 12pm, or you must leave now, as no longer can be self-employed in this job here present, and the employer had to stump up a very large amount of money owing to NI not paid.
You really need to understand the rules you guys, as paying self-employed men does not exempt you from responsibility from paying NI if caught

Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
I was being paid a nice £15 ph in 2012, cash-in-hand for Thursday, Friday and week-ends. Pulling an articulated trailer with a brand new Claas tractor.
Not one gate post clipped, no tractor damage and ‘can-do’ attitude.
If I was in the market I’d be looking for £20 now.
I can do ‘proper’ dollies too😁👍
SS

I was totally with you until dollies got brought in. They are kryptonite to me and I can't reverse them. :X3:
