I need a set of rear tyres for one of my 2WD Case DB 1394.
It is currently on an old set of 16.9 R34 which are rotten
I have been looking around at new and used tyres and there seems to be a big variation.
I can buy something like an Alliance 324 (8 ply) new in a 16.9 R34 for around £320 or a...
Had a heifer calve 5 days ago and constantly just wants to kick the calf off when suckling. I’ve checked her mastitis and milked her out incase she was sore. I’ve given her some Endocam incase she’s in any pain.
she loves the calf, she was straight up and licking and is constantly with it...

We have taken on some adjoining grazing land that has no water.
A possibility is pumping from the brook approx 80 m across our existing field to the new field.
There is a slight incline - not steep as this is a brook meadow we're going across.
Would a 2" petrol water pump to an IBC work ?
We...
Early morning tv news, reported that the UK had the wettest period (winter/spring), because of which less crops could be planted , so as the news report stated, "the UK has to rely on more imports of food", well thats hard to believe? or took alot of "intelligent" people to come to that...
have to put in quite a few new gateposts (hardwood sleepers) over next few months for 12 and 14ft gates , we usually auger the holes out and concrete in around them , but talking to a fellow farmer he just rams in soil/ stone around his ,recons concrete makes them rot around base (tanalised...
Difficult to explain but.. our yard at home is very small , it’s a four or five point turn in the pick up and a real struggle with trailer.
There is a bit of track ( through gate behind buggy in pics) this goes to an old hard standing but at it’s narrow point is only 8’ wide and although the...
So, things have changed a little, organic is the old school, flat cap wearing, tweed kinda feel. Regenerative is the new kid on the block, rather edgy, slick style but promising a down to earth feel. So in the marketing eyes of the British Retail Consortium who are they going to run with? Who...

Just wondered on the state of peoples farms, personally I strongly dislike a messy farm with junk and rubbish getting in the way but not everyone feels as strongly as me it seems unfortunately. Its improving but not its not as good as I would like. How about your farm?
hi.. i know stainless steel is the ultimate when it comes to fertilizer but would it be any addition if i sandblasted a fert spreader hopper, patched up any weak spots and the sent it to be hot dip galvanised or would it be a waste of time?
Dad worked on farms in the 1950's-1970's. He bought his first house in about 1976 when no longer working on farms so at least he managed to get a foothold outside of tied cottages. Always a mixed blessing.

Hello from the northern U.S.. Spring is just getting started here. Grass is greening up nicely and some early leaves are poking out of the trees. Almost done with calving.
My wife and I raise beef cattle in Minnesota and would love to travel to the UK someday.
How realistic would it be for us...

Wondering if I’m shortsighted in considering purchasing a 2.8m front mower to run with our existing rear mower.
overlap would be 7” give or take where a 3.1 m front mower would give another 6” on paper.
Advantages to both along with disadvantages but in anything other than a nice field I’m...

RABDF Down to Earth, the regenerative livestock farming event, will be hosted at a housed cow unit for the second year in a row; cows milked 3x per day, I understand it to be "high input, high output".
Not knocking confinement systems, but can this system really be regenerative?
I believe that...
Got the email saying Groundswell tickets are on sale. Been to it since the start, but £250 for 2 days entry and camping is a bit on the steep side. Much though I love going probably going to give it a miss this year.
