Why? I give mine it all the time when they get fighting.
Something to do with renal failure, IIRC.
There's been talk about it on TFF in the past.
The injectable we use is far stronger than the proper stuff made just for dogs, I think.

If you've not had any problems, maybe it's just vet propaganda so they can sell us the expensive dog version 🤷‍♂️

Bloody annoying when you start checking at the wrong end of the farm and find a dead one cast where you should have begun, just just alive when I found here, 10 minutes and she would have lived.
Sod's law! It's the same as lambing a ewe and the lamb seems alive but just doesn't quite get going - always wish I'd gone round the field a different route. Can't be two places at once though.

Same here less than 20, and seem to be having more problems. Two more in the pet pen, no milk. Probably actually not any worse, and just the weariness of 4:30 starts starting to drain my brain. On the positive side we seem to have cured a very sick lamb, you never really expect that. I feel the transition coming - from getting them born, to trying to keep them alive in the coming weeks.
@Wood field baked tattie, 10 minutes in the microwave, dump stuff on top 👍

🙏 for Fat Dave's foot, ours occasionally land wrong, catch it on something???

Yep I find that bit harder, lost one in the field yesterday, starved. A few more pet lambs after last weeks mastitis epidemic, hopefully that’s over for a bit.

Food parcel arrived, mrs did an online shop, something we never do. So I’ve al sorts of niceties including cake and chocolate.
Fatty is still limping but only slightly, poor lads like me , getting on a bit.

Today’s knitting of fog was interesting, gathered ewes and lambs to a small field then off up the track to the house, I wanted to rest fat Dave so used the two younger girls , eventually got them somewhere near but posh dog bottled and went to her kennel, whilst youngest dog looked overwhelmed!
Fatty was brought out and bossed the situation.
Seemed to take an age so we let them out after marking and ear notching , I’ll have to get them trailered away at the weekend
