Window sealant for John Deere 1630?

I have taken out all the windows for a restoration on my John Deer 1630 and was wondering when I refit the windows what to use? Modern sealant rather than the weird stuff they used back in the 60's and 70's. I was thinking silicon but for some reason I think that there maybe something better.

I think you would be best to use a polyurethane sealant such as sikaflex.

Your local Deere, NH or MF dealer parts dept will I.D original sealant.
As Sharpy mentioned Sikaflex or possibly a Tetrasyl variant as a modern version.

Now Then...
If you search ' 8mm black butyl ' on Amazon or a well known auction site, there's plenty there.. I imagine it's discontinued from John Deere now.
I see it is available in a variety of diameters. I never actually measured it, but I think 8mm would do it. If you used a silicon type adhesive, I think it would be a more permanent installation, thus making any future broken glass replacement more difficult..
Do you have any pictures of this John Deere 1630 out of interest??

Yes, Tiger Seal or Sicks like sh!t or OB1 from Screwfix. Some brands have different grades of silicone adhesive, not just one. So what you should search for is ‘silicone adhesive’. Choose the black heavy duty ones that even stick wet surfaces.

I think like Tractortech says the butyl would be best so I could still remove the windows if I break one. Thanks guys for your suggestions .

Oooooh,,,,, You have a job ahead of you there.. Have you tested it hydraulically before you started?? Does it have a Hi-Lo?? Is there any play in the steering 'Bell crank' and has it been converted to taper roller bearings?? Was the front weight dropping off when you got it?? How does that happen?? 🤔

Hydraulics work ok, no Hi/Lo. I have fitted new pin and bearings to do with the bellcrank and axle pivot. I didn't realise roller taper conversions were a thing for the bellcrank. I am having the spindle housings repaired, why fit new bearings when you can use the spindles as bearings. Poor thing had been neglected over the years. Weight bolt had sheared off, iv'e got it out and new bolts to go in. Someone must have been trying to lift the tractor using the weight maybe? It needs a floor a roof and rear arches. Never buy a tractor in the dark when it's raining. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I bought some rear guards from Nick Young and a roof, I'll have a look though as interior trim will be needed too. I have bought a loader for it but it came off a 4wd 1630 local to me. The tractor came from somewhere in England and was bought without a loader, The loader I have for it is a Marquis.
Welderloon I'll have to make sure I keep it safe then.. ;)
