Clipex cattle crush...i hate it.

Fyi if anyone thinking of purchasing pgx 1100 crush, im not impressed.

Cons
Strait head bale bars.
Chin gaurd useless, cattle knock there heads on upper mechanism.
Slop in crush assembly.
Full length side gates, especially on working side.
Had to modify and remove panel so could inject cattle when drop to there knees.
Rear door sticking
Poor build qaulity

Pro
Parallel squeeze

I have mine mounted on scales, the thing is dangerous, will be heavily modified or replaced.

What's wrong with straight head bars? I thought there much better than curved ones.
Some of those problems would be very obvious before purchase but side access in squeeze crushes seems poor on all of them.

Cattle drop to there knees alot as there head can slide down, need diamond cutout, or v shaped.

I boughtvof friends rec and sight unseen as i had bought a farm and was shifting, no spare time unfortunately as im single.

Its my bad for buying.

Border Livestock have a 2022 one for sale tomorrow that my mate was interested in until he saw this thread
I would look for other options personally.

Also the rhs anti slip on floor ate to big, cattle can really put some strain into crush with these, better with smaller reo bar, ill have to cut mine out if kept.

They had to replace head bale hydraulic mechanism when new.

Its very hard to find a crush that is suitable for subcutaneous injections in neck area.

I would think clipex do a breast bar to stop them dropping to their knees.

You'd be hard pushed to find a perfect crush as everyone wants slightly different things

We have an arrowquip and it works really well but the finish is terrible. Not good for the Scottish climate anyway
Same here, only 3 years old and the powder coating is coming off in a lot of places. Can't seem to get any power on the manual squeeze either, more of a width adjustment than something to restrain the cattle.

I wonder how much would be involved to get it or most of it galvanised?
Dip the whole thing!

Mines chinese gal, as clipex is chinkaneese made.

I have mine under cover, so far that part is reasonable.

I hacent found anything online that really stands out, i will go to a field day.

Its on weigh bars and to weld has to be lifted off them, which is doable, so it might have to be a heavy modification week so its not off-line for too long.

One weld on rear handle has broken already.
