In the 1980`s bought a sh 2 post from a garage packing up, was 3 phase direct to hydraulic pump drive, I cobbled a 1 phase motor in place of the 3p, worked ok BUT,would not lift from a dead stop had to set motor off with bypass handle down and gradually let it up, eventually put 3p back on and brought wiring to it, much better.

Got a couple of bradbury 3 posters in the workshop here. £200 each donkeys years ago straight out of a garage that was getting a refit. All cars are stable on them, great for all work except welding sills. Never seen them anywhere else though..

Bit of help please I’ve bought a 4 poster but it’s 3 phase and we’ve only got single was thinking of using tractor spool valve will it work ?
My Bradbury was 3 phase, but it was only the motor that was 3 phase, all the controls and safety stuff was single phase.
I phoned my local electric motor place and told them what I wanted to do, and they matched up a single phase motor for me. Unfortunately they couldn't get single phase motor of the same frame and shaft size as the 3 phase one so got one of the same frame size and got a new drive coupling to match the motor. The lift now works off a 13a plug, works fine with no problems.
