Brexit is destroying Britain

It’s quite comical that the rejoineer argument has morphed over time. It started as “Brexit will be an absolute apocalypse”, changed to “Brexit will be a disaster”, then became “there are no benefits from Brexit” and is now “there are no massive benefits from Brexit” which of course is an admission that there are already benefits.

One has to wonder what the next iteration from the rejoineers will be, “Brexit prevents second coming of Christ” is a strong contender. The reason rejoineers ignore facts is because the facts don’t support their suppositions

Err it's been a massive disaster.
It's only a disaster because even brexiters shied away from the apocalypse of immediate no deal exit.
Have you seen the UK figures by the OBR the ONS and H of C?
Or are you relying on the fantasy brexit ones you often quote?

The likelihood is orders of magnitude lower than in the UK.
Yet you claim you don't need checks.

So there now just 'might' be less dodgy meat in the EU than the UK🤣. That's a far cry from what you posted below.

Dodgy food would not have got into the single market as it would be checked when in an EU spec abbatior.
The stuff you're getting today is from Thailand Rwanda etc.
You know that of course but prefer to lie about it.

Since the UK left the EU in 2020, its goods exports to the EU have not performed any worse than to the rest of the world, and its services exports have grown strongly. How come?

Headline UK trade numbers have been surprisingly robust after Brexit. Goods exports to the EU have tracked those to the rest of the world, despite new trade barriers being imposed on the former but not on the latter (Chart 1). And services exports to both the EU and the rest of the world have been growing at a decent clip since the UK left the single market.

Well the biggest one is we are no longer part of the European integration project, one advantage of this as mentioned before is that if we were still in the EU we would be part of the pooled debt program from bonds issued after Covid. That would put the UK on the hook for huge liabilities. These currently would be more than the annual NHS budget

Whatever the merits might be of those bond issues we would have had no option to opt out and little influence on there issue. This debt is one of the reasons member contributions will rise in the near future.

The integration of EU countries has advanced considerably since Brexit, probably because we are not there. That’s another reason any application we were foolish enough to make would be vetoed

There are others.

The biggest benefit is that we have a government in Westminster elected by the people, able to democratically enact their wishes and be held accountable if they don't.

And yet the Westminster government still enact new EU laws, like the silly law that means I can't install replacement back boiler woodturners in farm cottages because the EU says they're bad for the environment, and our arsehole politicians gold plate the legislation into 'our own' EcoDesign2022' regs...

Which bit of the "bonfire of red tape" have they actually enacted?

Whatever they do or don't do, they are responsible for it at the ballot box, that's the change/benefit.

That may well be, but that doesn't mean that the votes of 10,000 farmers will be heard when this or the next government carry on pretending farming and domestic food supply don't matter in the slightest. The public aren't going to come to the rescue, they're just going to serve their own interests at the ballot box, much like the politicians we elect.

Correct.
Everyone serves their own interests.
Some pretend not to.

and that's new ?
Just the pretence that Brexit somehow made our politicians accountable, when they know they can get away with literal murder mass manslaughter in public office.

FWIW, I don't really care about BREXIT, it hasn't really changed my life in any meaningful way, but it hasn't half given idiots on both sides of the fence something to lose their sh!t over non stop for the last 8 years.
