We’ve been here before with Israeli fertiliser production about 18 months ago, when they took their gas production offline and merchants were using the fact that they make 1% of the worlds nitrogen fertiliser to try to talk up prices, which was a blatant load of shite.

the 1% from Israel isn’t the concern I don’t think, if it escalates with Iran, that would likely mean a closing of the straights of Hormuz which would mean a choke on a chunk of urea export tonnes, but more importantly oil flows.

then it depends who wades into the mix as a huge ammount of urea is produced in North Africa.

not good for anything if it escalates.

A choke on urea heading SOUTH of the straights of Hormuz, which cuts off Egyptian urea to India.
In short it means it would have to head north through the Med, which means Egyptian should be significantly less competitive to Asia, but significantly cheaper in Europe…

OK, scratch that, I'm confusing the Straights of Hormuz (Persian Gulf) with the Gulf of Aden, which is below Egypt, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

A blockade of the Straights of Hormuz won't affect Egyptian fertiliser heading anywhere, but it perhaps explains why there have been 9 Hawk jets (ZB131 to ZB139) flying over here most weeks for the last 3 years, based out of RAF Leeming but carrying Qatar Emirate markings. Something to do with the RAF providing fast jet training for Qatari Eurofighter pilots in the Persian Gulf.

Not my image, but a great photo:

New season Urea Collective deal now live!

If you remember last year, this collective deal gained a lot of attention and traction. With many members receiving a great discount on their new season orders.

We're already seeing a good deal of volume come in through the collective. This is definitely not one to be missed.
