Pest Control To many Rabbits NO PROBLEM !!

I am a semi retired professional from the social and care sector.

I would like to volunteer my services as I look for permission to carry out rabbit control. I have carried out rabbit control for 35 years all over wales and now as I have more time on my hands and I would like to pursue this pastime of mine a lot more. During the last 35 years I have built up good relations with a number of farmers who are happy to provide references.

My family and friends eat most of the rabbits I catch, however when large numbers are to be cleared I sell them to game dealers as I don't like seeing a very healthy food going to waste.

I have listed below a rough copy of what I have in mind, having said that I will adapt to most requirements.

I am serious about this venture and so I would value your feedback.

Your sincerely

The Service

I provide a reliable service. The service specializes in rabbit control, this has the advantage of you not getting a jack of all trades [pest control ], instead you are getting a specialist [rabbit management]. I have been involved in rabbit control for over 35 years and I have provided this service all over the country. The service can facilitate solutions to all your rabbit problems using methods of the most traditional to the most forward thinking techniques of control. This diverse service is controlled by you with an agreed management strategy. I use the term management strategy as this service treats both the symptoms and the source, and is lead by you. The service starts with a telephone consultation of your rabbit problems, after the consultation an on location assessment will take place with yourself, we then agree on the action plan and the methods you choose to solve and manage your rabbit difficulty, next we agree on your expected outcomes from the service, and of course some agreed timescales. No practical work will be carried out until this process has been agreed and completed. This is a service user lead service based on your view point, I take pride in this unique service and my goal is to balance total professionalism with a personable approach. Why does Hitlers Army want to descend on agricultural land and let rip , I am sure the poster is most professional and would not do that but it's become a daily event , 'cansomeone let me shoot on their land' , surly unless summat is at pest level it should be left in peace , the odd bunny ain't going to do any harm

3 foxes 2 hares 10 bunnies. And sorry! but yes a badger

I am willing to travel anywhere in the UK, so where I live is not that relevant, however for those who want to know where I live, I live in the Brecon Beacons National Park. My service is for those who have too many rabbits, I agree completely that the odd bunny does no harm.

Thank you all for your comments

I understand your frustrations. Must get really annoying. But, if it's a problem you've never had (ie you have land) then you can't understand the frustration of someone trying to enjoy their sport.
It's supposed to be a win win. (Doesn't end up that way slways)
If you saw 10 rabbits on a wAlk out with the kids that would mean there's a f**k tonne more than you saw. A little fact is it's your responsibility bY LAW to control the rabbit population.
The reason they aren't so rife is because of all the shooters.
In turn controlling the rabbit population also helps control the fox population ( can be adverse on occasions as some sneaky ones will not bother hunter at all and just take geese and chickens)

A breeding pair can have a litter of up to 12 kits. After that litter they can breed straight away and the gestation is only 30 days. So effectively 1 female can have 144 kits per year. After a kit is 12 weeks old they can also reproduce at the same rate. You do the maths. If you see a few rabbits I assure you there will be hundreds underground.
1: gotta control the blighters by jaw to stop them eat the grass and damaging land and also foundations
2: they taste nice in a pie or curry.

I am in contact with the NTS regarding Canna, however it is far more complicated than it first appears due to the potential impact on its endangered sea bird colonies. When I visited the island I realized what a mammoth task it is, it needs at least a small team of pest controllers to make any impact.

Rabbits are a real problem for some farmers!!! I have seen pasture land look like dust bowls due to an overpopulation of rabbits with the farmers having to feed his sheep throughout the whole year due to a lack of grassland. The figures mentioned in ash notts post are very real and a real threat.

Just thought I`d mention that if you do have a high number of rabbits on your land I am able to pay you a fee for every rabbit I take of your land.

In these difficult financial times every little helps, so hopefully not having to pay the pest controller and making a little money will maybe help farmers a little.

In all fairness though. This is a farming forum. Are you interested in farming?
It's also a bit presumptuous to joins farm forum and your first post is a one asking for land to shoot.
It would be great if that could happen. I love shooting but I joined here and I like learning about farming and farm related subjects.
Just get involved. :)

I'm interested in providing a service for farmers. I have many friends who are farmers and they are so happy with the service I provide for them, they suggested that I place a post on farming forums. I don't think it is presumptuous as I have learned through life not to assume as it only makes an ass out of u and me (y) all I`m doing is making an effort to contact any farmers that may be interested, I don`t want to offend anyone. If no one is interested NO PROBLEM;)
