Hope he has room for my 5Another dead ewe in the 3rd field this morning. Wagon will be full after hes picked my heap up
Were these off home bred or bought in sheep?Four more premature dead lambs picked up this morning. From what I’ve read whether it’s Toxo or Campy can’t do much about it now. Shows the importance of vaccination. These ewes weren’t vaccinated when younger because we couldn’t get hold of vaccines at the time
Dropped a cow in the knacker wagon the other day and its head was sticking out the top…I said Christ you must have some bodies in….he said he’d just picked 23 ewes up off one spotHope he has room for my 5
Suppose it depends how big a flock he has, we'll probably end up 23 down this time.Dropped a cow in the knacker wagon the other day and its head was sticking out the top…I said Christ you must have some bodies in….he said he’d just picked 23 ewes up off one spot
They need some sun on their backs now but unfortunately it’s looking like more of the same.Suppose it depends how big a flock he has, we'll probably end up 23 down this time.
Too many for one pick up tho maybe!
Been a tough year for sheep.
Had 2 days muck spreading over the weeekend….this morning it’s sodden through againThey need some sun on their backs now but unfortunately it’s looking like more of the same.
Still dry over this side so farHad 2 days muck spreading over the weeekend….this morning it’s sodden through again
It’s as bad here as it’s been all winter now and looks wet on and off for the foreseeable now and doesn’t seem to be drying in between now like it was a few weeks ago.Had 2 days muck spreading over the weeekend….this morning it’s sodden through again
It’s dry here atm but must of had a lot through the night…3 sets of twins born into it as wellStill dry over this side so far
Oh didnt know who funded it, we had it done all it cost was a bit of vet tec time.I don’t think it’s funded by govt, but by the vaccine company. It’s a blood test that will tell you later, not in the middle of a storm.
And even then I’ve had inconclusive!!The last proper Campy storm we had was like that too.
Tbh, it’s just a wild guess without a lab diagnosis.
Mixture of both. Any bought in will have been here 3 yearsWere these off home bred or bought in sheep?
Have they been on hay or wrapped hayledge?Mixture of both. Any bought in will have been here 3 years
I took some abortion problems to the government lab for testing last year and the head guy said they traditionally saw Enzo, Toxo, Campy in that order but the last 2 years Campy is the number 1 cause.True, but Toxoplasmosis is statistically more likely.
That’s interesting, had two so far and we are fully vaccinated apart from a few last year when we couldn’t get toxovax. Always feared compylobacter.I took some abortion problems to the government lab for testing last year and the head guy said they traditionally saw Enzo, Toxo, Campy in that order but the last 2 years Campy is the number 1 cause.
Wrapped haylageHave they been on hay or wrapped hayledge?
