I have 340ha of land I manage which has been archaeological trenched through the autumn/winter. I planted a cover after harvest which has done a great job of keeping the excavators from making too much mess, but the land will need leveling and then loosening to get it right. The issue is the land needs to dry at depth before any remedial cultivation which this heavy land won't without a growing crop on. So my plan in May/June is to dd a summer cover in to dry the land out, I need to use metal to repair the soil, roots will not be enough so my mix is:
65kg/ha spring oats - I have them already
4kg/ha buckwheat - I get on well with it
2kg/ha sunflowers - I like them!
0.5kg/ha phacelia - Get on well with it
0.5kg/ha oil radish - just to add variety
Will this be enough seed to achieve my stated aim?
Many Thanks
