I submitted a simple application for FG2: Sheep netting today.
Who long should I expect to wait for the results of my application?

Up to 2 months they tell you. But I’ve had between 3 weeks and over 2 months because there was a problem with my photos but they didn’t tell me. I only found out when I chased them at the 2 month mark. Being paid this week for a claim put in feb 27th

Claimed 4 weeks ago, exactly the same as previous claims, which they paid within weeks, they emailed yesterday saying I hadn’t done the photos correctly, incredibly frustrated, I’m a farmer, not a bloody IT expert, they clearly show the completed work and all have field parcel numbers. I could have a proper rant but will save you all from that.

We’re 11 weeks into a claim and no money yet.

well at least that’s what I thought until I did some digging into things. Turns out the agent messed up and didn’t bother to tell us.

It won’t happen again!

I've only just found out you can only submit one application per parcel! I only included one item because I thought I'd see how the application process would be before I submitted for more. What do I do?

I called Rural Payments and the chap I spoke to said I should email [email protected] and explain what happened.
They might either add the extra capital items to my application or close that and start again. He said one application per year per SBI.

Once you have claimed all of your grant for that parcel then you can put in a new application with that parcel on it.
can put in as many claims as you like a year. I usually have a new one waiting to go as soon as I’m paid for the last one.
have 2 agreements at the moment. Will be putting in another application later this year as one of the old ones will be complete.

You couldn't make it up, I emailed them back yesterday with a polite but strongly worded reply and they've messaged today to say that with another look, they will accept my photos after all and will continue with processing my claim !!!

How long does it typically take for an application to be approved so that work can commence? I have a couple of clients who want to coppice, plant and fence old hedge lines this coming winter
My claim went in on the 2nd of April for over 100k of fencing and coppicing works, got the agreement email for acceptance yesterday for start date of 1st of May.
A lot quicker than I thought it would be to be honest, can't complain at that !

[email protected] replied.
They couldn't "accept" my email with the supporting maps because it wasn't an email recorded against my business. Basically it wasn't the email I used to register with rural payments. And it's true I used an email I've subsequently created for the faming business as opposed to my personal one. This mistake has cost me 5 working days.

Am I the only one who gets well and truly p*ssed off listening to the chap give you the options on the helpline when he says;
"please bear with us during these exceptional times" !!!
What is exceptional about these times? apart from they are probably all now working from home and not enough of them to answer the calls.

Had him twice this morning. Then missed the callback. Demoralising. Hey ho. That standard message takes a good two minu to work through. Reducing its length should be a priority for RPA Defra. Ok I know that is pie in the sky.
