Unix was before my time but corbel was ace in those thick lush silage like wheat crops that were rank with mildew, far better than any of the current offerings......and it smelt nice.

Yep. Corbel and Calixin (?spelling) worked very well. Did Corbel not have some effect on rusts as well?

Crops were cheap and easy to grow in those days, especially when epoxy came along.

Yes banned in the EU, but not that much of a time difference.

Epoxiconazole failed the endocrine disruptor test - so was bound to be banned. You slated CRD in your initial post. If anything CRD allowed it use for a couple of years more than some other European countries which are members of the EU. Anyway its gone now.

Didn't know Unix was cypridinil.
Mixed with IZM as bontima it was/is a very good barley product
But only a barley product. Tracker was more dose flexible so became first choice for eyespot control.

As for CTL, blame TAG for developing the highly successful 'CTL-only' programme for wheat, which saved fortunes for many growers, but was clearly not wanted by 'Big Agri-Pharma' who weren't making any money from CTL sales.

Why does everybody think it was the big companies that banned CTL? It was and is countries health and safety authorities that deem actives no longer safe for use, nothing to do with the big companies. They try to carry out new studies to meet the new regulation requirements but certain things cannot be over come and products are withdrawn.

My friend used to do work for CRD. Their opinion of CRD is that they were actually pretty pragmatic in their approach and didn't ban products lightly. That being said, the continual dosing of water supplies with stuff like metaldehyde was a nonsense and was rightly stopped.

The companies don't ban they just mount no defense of generics as no money to be made.
Quite frankly if you want to accept the endocrine disrupter nonsense then you could ban every chem we use by finding similar pretend risks.

I was being ironic, but one can't help wondering if the Agchem Cos put any money into CRD. (Sorry, Covid has made me very cynical ;))
