We have a Pearson hydraulic squeeze crush. Really like it apart from it not being galvanized. Adjustable width race is good too if doing calves as well.

Mate had one for very wild sucklers, great crush but too noisy for cattle and people if you use it all day, they sold I last year and purchased a Bateman which their happy with.

Do you mean the hydraulic pump was noisy? (Which it is) I made up some long pipes and have the pump on the other side of a wall from the crush so it's not too bad.

No, the crush itself, think they had one of the first ones sold over here, so they maybe quieter now.

Had a look at te pari and clippex earlier in year. Came to the conclusion I bought right with Arrowquip. Only gripe I have is they should offer a galv version.
They do offer a galvanised version in Australia, but I think they are made in Australia whereas the ones sold here are made in Canada. You would wonder why they offer a galvanised one in a dry climate like Australia and a powder coated one in a wet climate, it doesn't make sense.

What's the best crush then I'm debating iae or ritchie squeeze crush but can't decide auto or non return manual yoke.
Have a good look at a Morris. I looked at a lot of crushes before I bought one and so glad I went for the Morris. They are made out of proper steel, not paper thin shaite and well thought out.

What's the main things you like over and above the others, they have been recommended a few times.

Do you prefer that yoke to self locking, we have to push quiet ones in and fast ones sometimes pull back out of self lock and then you can't do much with them.
Debating if we can slide door to stop them on this yoke?

For a start, build quality, British made and you can talk to the boss who will build in any features to suit you. The yoke works really well, good leverage and fully adjustable for closed position and half closed so the fast ones shouldn't get through on you. I was told by a neighbour that his self locking yoke was brilliant for the first couple of times until the cattle got wary of it.
The side gates easily open in three sections for whatever task you are performing i.e. bottom gate for suckling a calf or foot trimming, top gate for applying pour on etc. or top two for c sec. The squeeze works so well - quiet and very effective when a wild one comes through. We often close it down a little to slow the fast ones through. The gates close a lot quieter than on some of the other crushes and a lot less complicated than some makes which have levers for this and handles for that. Our vets love it for tb testing and if we have a c sec.
Are there any grants available at the moment for crushes?
