If you’re lucky. Look closely at the fire risk and don’t get too excited. We’ve got a £2k/MW carrot dangling on front of us at the moment. First contact made.

Can I have a PM too please? I need an agent, but a good one rather than a local one if necessary.PM sent
I've also had something similar for a 500MW (not a typo) site. We’ve got a £2k/MW carrot dangling on front of us at the moment. First contact made.
40-50 acres ?I've also had something similar for a 500MW (not a typo) site.
Very dubious but a bloody big carrot.
3540-50 acres ?
That be some dough if it comes off, may good fortune be your friend.

How dangerous are they if they catch fire? Thinking about the gasses etc and assuming that they were far enough away from another structure for the fire not to spread. If you’re lucky. Look closely at the fire risk and don’t get too excited.

Latest ones I believe are looking at different cooling sytems and also, alternative battery chemistry. They are not looking for super light and compact in a fixed site? How dangerous are they if they catch fire? Never let the truth get in the way of a good planning-related moan.I wanted to know what the truth is.
Quite!Never let the truth get in the way of a good planning-related moan.
Nail hit on head. They do come up with some shyte to difflect from the fact all they care about are house prices and walking their dogs.Quite!
The chat is that the smoke can be dangerous for up to 9km (I'm pretty sure it wasn't miles!)
I know of two others with planning permission, and one other prospective in our area, all of which are within 4km. It would seem that because the others aren't nearbye NIMBY doesn't come in to play.
How do I find out if the substation near me has any capacity? There are 2 battery storage sites within 10 miles of me built in the last year, but they both connect to a different sub-station. I have 20 acres of land, 5 of which are brownfield site within 1.4km of the nearest substation (400kv). Any help appreciated as just started looking into the battery storage after speaking with a local farmer who put 49mw on a 4 acre site 5 miles away. After reading this thread, it seems to be the biggest hurdle initially is if the local grid has capacity?
If you can recommend some that would be great. I've looked on the interactive map on the DNO's website and every other sub station is listed except the one near me (the other 2 local SS's are listed as unconstrained). I know it's operational etc and had big upgrades made a few years back to accommodate new incoming suppliesIf there is spare capacity you would have been bombarded by letters I’d suggest.
You can ask the DNO but there will be a fee and there answers can be a bit ‘fluid!’
Or approach a developer and ask them too. I can recommend a few
And the DNO, will still need a minimum of £5M for the additional upgrades that will be essential...If you can recommend some that would be great. I understand that, but just a bit confused why it's not listed as a substation on the DNO's map even though its operational? And the DNO, will still need a minimum of £5M for the additional upgrades that will be essential...
