Absolute heaving again.
I feel your pain but here the weather forecast this morning has so far proven wrong, following the pattern of the last 6 months . i.e forecast this morning here was for rain turning to showers with a dry night .Not had a spit or a spot all day so am expecting a downpour overnight seems the best thing to do is follow the opposite of the forecast or revert to watching cows lay down ,birds flying high, go to the beach and get some seaweed or get up at dawn and check wether its raining before 7 . Seriously the accuracy of forecasts has been diabolical this last few months wether it be the next few hours or a week in advance .

Couldnt agree more in regard to the 'accuracy' of the forecasts, 'diabolical' they certainly are. An recent extensive online search turned up around 10 different forecast providers, all of which (in my area at least) resulted in a different 'forecast', that all turned out to be incorrect!!. They are always making claims as to how much better the forecasts are thesedays, now they have these wonderful 'Super Computers' which provides such 'accuracy' etc.......(HaHa). Meanwhile in the 'Real World' there is the 'actual weather' on the day........very different. My personal (certainly over the past year) experience is that the forecast(s) are now routinely incorrect on the same day, let alone two to three days ahead, anything after that is purely computerised 'guesswork' and not even worth considering.

I was just about to log off and go and check a ewe and start some fenceing. Looked out of the office window, and it's just started hammering it down, sideways. I'll leave it a while !

Cold nw wind, few showers around, looks a bit sleety on the N Yorks moors from here.
2mm overnight, which has dried out quickly due to the wind.
Been drilling linseed all morning.

Not too bad here after a seriously windy session yesterday that had some roof sheets banging. It was warm enough in the tractor to make me doze off briefly when parked, but there are an incredible number of midges about as the sun warms all the water pools and dries out the mud. I don't think I have ever seen so many.
The sheep grazing the ground nearest the flood plain had visible columns of midges above them which doesn't bode well for future disease control.

Just a hundred sheep lambing very nicely mostly outdoors then this had to hit. Now bringing them in at night with all the extra work that involves. Newborn and on their feet out in the field were literally being blown away from their mothers never mind the wind chill, hail and squawly showers. Just about knocked the few flowers off my paltry OSR as well. Just keeps on giving. What a crock this year is.
