Not true Brian and you know it,it s been shown enough times on this thread.America is not in the situation you describe because they choose good relations instead of the big stick Russia chooses to wield.

Mr Stoltenberg was speaking to the Ukrainian parliament but his message was to western leaders. Ukraine needs more, much more, or Russia will succeed and western countries will then have to spend far more on their own defence. I wonder if they were listening?
