Neighbour damaging fencing

Does the owner of the vans actually drive any of them? If not maybe you could politely and quietly ask the drivers to park a bit further forward?
Unfortunately yes, and I did once overhear him telling one of his employees to park further back. That was before I spoke to him and pointed out the damage. He said he would try and pull the post straight again, but hasn't or couldn't and the vans are still being parked right up close.

The first thing that occurs to me is that you are dealing the wrong person. Your grumble is with the van owner's landlord. You have no contract with the van owner but do have an implied contract with his landlord not to interfere with your peaceful occupation of your property. Might be easier dealing with an intermediary, anyway.
Thank you, yes. I had hoped a polite word with the van owner might do the trick. I think I will contact the club and see if we can resolve the issue by placing something on their side of the fence, perhaps some sleepers or something to stop the vans reversing too close.

If your hoping to get planning i would play the long game and do nothing apart from putting the pig netting your side so it doesnt catch on the vans. Once you have got planning drive in some angle iron fence posts every 4ft which will protect your fence and withstand the vans backing against them.

Agree, no point rocking the boat if you want keep the neighbours happy in the mean time. Once planning permission is through then it's time to play hardball.

Thanks. I'm just being a bit cowardly I think. The access is owned by a club whose ground is behind me. Most of them are fine, but the current chairman tried to deny me access when I first started work, so I'm a bit wary of him. My deeds give me access at all times with or without vehicles, machinery, livestock etc. If I'm honest I am trying to avoid any confrontation. Everyone knows everyone, is on first name terms and won't want to get involved or take sides. They all live there. I am the outsider, but they are all really nice. They will keep an eye on things for me and give me a call if there are any issues and/or sort things, the guy who owns the vans is fine too, apart from the fence issue. I was hoping to resolve it with some simple fix. 🥺

Some good answers above. My thought was a block lying on the ground as a wheel stop but breaking a rear brake lense is a far better idea. Guessing it'll cost £20 a pop to replace. They don't respect your fence so I wouldn't respect their vans. Hopefully once the van owner has had enough of paying for lenses they might think twice.

Put some bracing back into your field like an A frame to try properly the fence up, only make sure they stick out further into the other side just enough and at the correct height and you shouldn't even need to break the lense yourself 🤔.

This is what is happening. If I stand at my gate and look back along the fence line towards the lane (about 12m) it deviates by about 60 cm. The fence was renewed and installed absolutely straight only 3 years ago. Thing is he is parking back to the fence all the time so it is gradually getting worse.
They are parking like twits

If there's room at the front, I don't see why you can't politely but firmly tell him, maybe they can put some reflective tape on some plastic electric fencing stakes so they know when they've touched them it's far enough back?

Only you know how awkward this could get. I’d be worried you try to deal with it and they ignore you and continue. This ruins the opportunity of hooking the wire over the bumper when they’re not looking. Might be the only way to teach them the error of their ways.

Do you own a dog? If not, is there a dog poo bin nearby? A few well placed dog turds should help the driver park more considerably. You wouldn’t want to stand in that when you get out of your van 💩
