Our company is looking to move production from China to the UK and for stage one I am looking to source approx 1.5 million lbs of millet, however for stage 2 we will need at least 3-4 million lbs per annum
I am wondering if anyone can recommend or help me in finding a UK source that could supply these volumes please

We have started to move production for US business back to US and sourced millet from colordao, we know want to do this for Europe and as we are based in UK it would be ideal to find raw ingredients in UK.

This change has been heavily led by the introduction of semi automation in our production method

Seems odd (if not downright fishy) that a Company would decide where to base production without being sure of a local source of raw materials first.
This is absolutely legitimate, at present I am trying to see if we can source millet at the right price and volume, if so then we can move production. This is a sourcing exercise

so you don’t think there would be a spare 700 tonne of grain production for a new packing venture ?
All depends on the £, I'd happily have an field scale go at it. Only reason the combine didn't go in it last time was it had broken and other jobs were more pressing.

What sort of price per tonne are you thinking of paying if I was to grow some for you?

There was a previous thread on this and because it can be sown late may be a saviour for some this year. I know nothing about the crop other than as part of game covers. With hot dry summers it may become a thing.

Sorry, I found it by googling Growing Millet and it found a thread dated 30 Dec 2020 started by Hedgehog but the search function comes up with loads of mentions for millet in game mixes.
