A Dowdeswell DP100 is the vari-width version of a DP8. 14-18" furrows.
The best thing about them is the parallel linkage which winds the whole plough sideways to accomodate any track width.
They're as close to idiot proof as this idiot can get.

No, wasn't even that many numbers
pretty basic they are, no alignment adjuster as such, just that big clamp that can loosened be slid one way or another to alter front furrow width to suit, lightweight plough.
They behave pretty well keep nice long landsides on the rear furrow and at least rear discs helps counteract extreme pull to land .
one of the first things to check Before you start Just check the underbeam clearance of all the bodies are the same,

Glad you said that. I think it must have been a 2+1+1 at some time and the long lansides for the rear furrows are wherever that last +1 is now.
I had decided to get some long ones to replace the short ones it currently has, you have confirmed it was the right idea. It does have the rear discs but currently they don't move side to side on the shaft, I will get them freed off. Will check the clearances. (y)

tbh ours used to behave fairly well even in heavier ground , but if its an annoying problem at times even with long landsides ive simply welded bit of extra flat plough scrap cut to the right shape and size onto the tail of them rear landsides . ive done that on my DP8 B 5 furrow before now to keep on the straight and narrow so to speak.

It has taken until now for it to be fit to use the plough. It is doing a reasonable job but the skimmers are not quite right.
I can tell they are wrong but how do you set them up particularly the angles in relation to the main bodies?
