Plough weight

First of all, stop driving onto the transport, it only needs to go wrong once! Fit a winch, it pulls the kit on and holds the front down whilst doing it, and removes any possibility of sideways movement due to wheel slip.It will also hold the tractor if a ramp breaks(seen this happen!)
Over the years, tried both reversing and driving on, reversing seems to cause a significant loss of traction, I presume due to weight being transferred to the lower( front )wheels.

Blimey this has gone off on a tangent, my friends 35x has water ballasted rear wheels, front inner and outer wheel weights and he has a front weight frame and access to a full set of weights, I just need to know from someone who has or had a similar plough TSR 82 or 102 wether the tractor will lift it comfortably.
TIA

No need to shout.....
Richard Ingram has a TS81 and lifts and pulls it no problem whatsoever. A TS82 is very very similar so no problem there either.

Don’t shout at us if your buddies tractor won’t lift it due to you not telling us the hydraulic system is goosed - in a similar manner to you not telling us yon little 35 now weighs roughly the same as a 4955. (12500 kg at the last count) Late in the day telling don’t you think?

Telepathy not being our strong point - you have had a reasonable and fair input from a group of very experienced people who are by and large generally concerned about the whys and welfare of the ploughing population.

If the hydraulics are up to scratch the answer is yes.

Thank you, as for his transportation, he’ll be using a 150hp tractor and hydraulic trailer which goes down to the ground, with chains to hold it on.

Is it vintage reversible then were you have to use a ts81. and is it tcn bodies Hope he runs it on white diesel and keeps to within 15 miles from home.

I dont think you can use a 101 or a 82 in that class What year was the ts 81 then bob

Any hand trip reversible is allowed in classes being run locally, there is talk of running a classic reversible at the National in the future, rules may come from the SOP but I can't see them excluding the 82 or 102, Also cannot see them excluding SCN or UCN bodies after all Mike Holloway has been shining up his 102 with UCN's recently !

My cousin's son uses an 82 behind a 35 locally and transports it behind tractor and trailer, he is not able to reverse the plough unless he places the front wheel in the furrow to gain extra height, not a problem with an 81

In Scotland, classic reversible is any Hand trip reversible. These will mainly be 81, 82 & 102 ploughs, a lot of these will be on 35/135 size of tractors to keep the right side of trailer legislation.

Just out of interest how heavy is your 135 (20) and reversible? You have a fair set of weights on the front of it!

I've not had it over a weighbridge since cab and loader frame were removed. With trailer it was 3650kg. Oops! Now cab and loader frame off and weights go in back of pickup. Should be well under

Yes it will lift it just fine. I have a 35x with discs and skimmers and it I no problem. I have 8 weights on the front and it travels and works spot on. The hydraulic system is in good order and as a point of reference it's maximum pressure is 2500psi and when the plough is attached it takes 1800 psi to lift it.

Sorry for reviving an old thread; I’ve just bought a ts 82 which I’m hoping to play with behind a 135. It hasn’t got discs or depth wheel (but was very tight and looked the business so I bought it) has anyone got a pair of disc assemblies and a depth wheel they could flog me? Or am I better off buying another plough with them on and swapping bits? Thanks
