As the small build BNG requirement kicks in from the beginning of this month no planning has yet been given with these rules in place. I rather suspect the planners do not fully understand the rules themselves and may wrongly refuse Class Q and self builds if a BNG has not been submitted. No you can't is the simple answer and they will have to live there 10 years without enforcement to then claim it is no longer enforcable and seek to make it lawful before then seeking permission to replace it with a house.Good morning
Can you put a log cabin on farm land and live in it without permission, I know someone who has done this they are living in it and going to put in permission for a house
Ah thank you, said person seems to think they can put in for full planning and they have been living there for a month, they seem to think it is acceptable to live in a log cabin and perfectly fine.No you can't is the simple answer and they will have to live there 10 years without enforcement to then claim it is no longer enforcable and seek to make it lawful before then seeking permission to replace it with a house.
Oh dear! If that was the case then the countryside would be full of city folk wanting to live 'off grid' - I get at least one new enquiry of this type a week.Ah thank you, said person seems to think they can put in for full planning and they have been living there for a month, they seem to think it is acceptable to live in a log cabin and perfectly fine.

If they are being a nuisance or affecting you in any way I wouldm drop a polite phone call to the Planning Enforcement team at the council, if not, let the planning process take its co
Annonomous Enforcement reports won't be taken seriously but confidentiality is taken seriously by Enforcement - so it shouldn't get back to the other party that it was you.thank you, can reporting it be done so no one knows?
