A UK Government spokesperson said: “We are not introducing an EU-wide youth mobility scheme (YMS) – free movement within the EU was ended and there are no plans to introduce it.
So all those things one enjoyed in either a gap year or as holiday experience have been dropped by HMG.

Anyone can spend six months a year in the EU, not many can actually afford to do that either monetarily or work wise.

The offer was up to 4 years, to attend University and or work, in whichever country a young person chose. A youngster from the UK had a choice from 27 countries, could have done repping on the French Atlantic coast or the Med in Summer and the French Alps in the winter.
The children of the wealthy go where they want, the rest can stay in the uk, summer seasons at Blackpool awaits.

We need the fruit pickers and bum wipers. Can’t let these young ‘uns escape nor enjoy the freedoms to move within Europe. C’mon get back on message. I’m alright Jack.

As a pre retirement present Sunak has put the economy on a “war footing”. Get qualified and get emigrating seems to be the message to the young. Sunak himself will be taking his kids to California before the balloon goes up!

These anti student rules have drastically reduced a nice UK money earner.
BPP who offer university degrees in Law, https://www.bpp.com/courses/law?&?ppc_keyword=bpp law&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADtkWw6DMHhOd9vl7Py2uIW3gdmQb&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_7iRpdvahQMVNo9QBh1_ag4oEAAYASAAEgLF8PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Accounting and similar have had a sudden and drastic fall in the numbers of foreign students wanting to attend, live in the UK and obtain an internationally recognised professional qualification.
Good shot y’all in Westminster.

So little Englanders, are now to become even more little, little Englanders. Bless ‘em…
Except the the facts show there has been an increase in foreign student numbers by over 30% since 2017 which is as far back as I looked and it has increased every single year, EU numbers have dropped non EU rise by far more.

Yes but with a visa it's possible to stay for a year and then renew it without much problem.
Not to work you can't. Unless it's a job that can't be done by a EU citizen. You need employers sponsorship for a start, at least 2 Ski companies packed up as they couldn't bring the staff they wanted to. The banking and finance lot cope well but for their high salary staff, local recruitment for the lower ranks.

According tor Google 40,000studying abroad in 2023 up from around 20,000 in 2014.
We now have the turing scheme which is worldwide I believe.
The post I was replying to said foreign student numbers had dropped by a lot, the facts show the opposite.

Not a replacement for Erasmus and some placements are as short as 7 days. Another world beating fudge then.
