It's great when online communities can come through in a positive way, isn't it? If you ever need more resources or guidance, I've heard good things about fherehab.com, they might have some useful info for you.

Listening to my kids I was amazed at how readily available hard drugs are. My son was showing me business cards that he'd been given whilst at University by dealers. Luckily neither of my kids seem interested but apparently they are everywhere.
There was a guy at Newcastle Uni C.1992 who made no bones of the fact he was financing his way through Uni by selling a lot of drugs to other students.

And the course he was studying: BSC Agriculture. He was from an 'urban' background, but "wanted to study Ag" as his grandfather was a farmer.

I think “we” ie rural working people can be perhaps naïve towards how widespread recreational drug use is.

A friend went visiting friends of his wife down in London, well to do city types, and was shocked at how openly their personal drug use was discussed, uppers and downers taken akin to taking a paracetamol for a headache.

A work acquaintance is to do with a local football club and said the toilets have to be treated in some way to discourage drug taking, I can’t remember what he said it was. Said drug taking much more prevalent in the female toilet than male and becoming an expensive issue as they have to be seen to be taking all measures to discourage/prevent.

There was a guy used to work with us, was always a bit of a stoner, but harmless enough. The synthetic stuff came on the go and he went totally off the rails, ended up having to move back to England to live with his mum (he was early 50s). Had gotten himself in an awful state, arrested several times, hallucinations at work, reckoned he passed out in the bath for 27hours after one session.

Don’t have to look far, wife sat in car on phone in park in local village waiting for the kids and watched the dealers pull up and serve a load of 11/12/14yr olds. Bobbies not interested.

I would be the first to admit how blind I am to recreational drug use. I have never had anything to do with it, it doesn't interest me in the slightest and to be honest I'm not sure they would add that much to my life as I've never been one to drink excessively or enter social situations where drugs would be even a thing.

When we produced our last child my daughter she was very poorly in hospital a few times almost died the last time with broncholitis.
When I reckoned up how old I would be when she is 21 I thought smoking was a luxury (if you can call it that) that I couldn’t afford and a selfish one at that. Looking at her was as good of an excuse to pack in as any
My dad chain smoked cigars for years , till one day a drunk driver crashed into him and hospitalised him for 2 months ….. saved his life in a way cos that was thankfully the end of the cigars … lived till 89 .
