Maybe so,but its not much use to the rearer/seller to have some lovely fit well cared for cattle and cant even get to £1000 at 12 months.

I thought very good fit cattle were a good trade in the big ring but i didnt see many sold. The weaners seemed to be easier. There seemed to be alot in there that should have been in the big ring.Especially native breeds and Simm x of which well fed and fit kinds 10-12 months would be either...

There is indeed, but if you pick up a globe, the CPTPP countries are a hell of a long way from us,instead of 20 mile across the channel. Thats if you can get containers through the Red Sea or around Cape Horn in one piece. And thats mostly cheap electronics or clothes cos they work for 2p/hour...

I dont really think its all to do with our domestic inflation, more to do with shadowing the Federal reserve in the US.If their rates are still high, which they still are at 5.25% since July last year, then our rates have to be high aswell.Otherwise £1 would soon be worth less than $1.

It never seems to put the big buyers off,but they will have all good facilities to deal with them. They will tend to be good aggressive feeders i guess. A timid one standing at the back of the shed and not getting into the feed trough is no good.
