I reckon Wheat after Oats, especially DD’d after the oats is a problem. It’s as if the rotting Oat stubbles exude some sort of enzyme or hormone that the Wheat doesn’t like. Especially in a wet Autumn.

Are you far enough north not to have BG as a problem? Assuming that you are, I imagine Min-Till is ideal in your situation. Any form of DD drilling in the Spring is generally far more difficult to achieve good results.

Somebody told me that there were some figures quoted in the Farmers Weekly recently of just over £4 for the baling and £7 for 6 layers of wrap and £6 for 4 layers Is that about right?
