    Red sky at night

We are a lot further north than @Kiwi Pete ( about 31 degrees S ), but apparently you could see it here last night. I didn’t, cos I was asleep, ( & it was raining ) but will have a look tonight normally, you can only see the “southern lights” from Tasmania, we are way too far north to see them

End of the manual gearbox in cars

I far prefer manuals to autos, especially for work / farm vehicles( which I think should always be base models, basic spec vehicles ) , but to be honest, I don’t plan to buy another new work vehicle anyway . My 2014, manual, 3.0 Hilux has at least another 10 or 20 years life in it & I am...

It’s definitely NOT about making gun owners out to be bad guys. You do have to remember, it is the cops who are the main ones facing & at risk of being shot we’ve had some high profile police shootings in the last few years, of cops just doing their job & not coming home at the end of their...

kids here steal cars all the time for drug fuelled kicks, try & be as visible & make as much noise as they can ( do burnouts & circle work in front of the police sergeants house for eg ), then dump them & burn them. It’s just a revolving door of courts . . . however, ANYTHING to do with guns is...

it’s a bit like running trucks ( HGV ) here, semi trailers, single trailer, B Double or Triple, or multiple trailer Road Trains It is the owners responsibility to keep up to date with constantly changing regulations. I suppose the theory is, if you want to own or operate these potentially...

to keep up with current requirements, as the safe was in an uninhabited building, the firearms should also have had trigger locks, along with security cameras & a “back to base” security system. it is our responsibility to stay up to date with the latest regulations, no one tells us when they...

Err, this thread is about gun crime . . . not sure where I was having a go at either you or your country here, especially compared to all the UK posters complaining about the UK police & a high crime rate . . . 🤔 not sure I’ve done much more than point out how serious our authorities take...

I have been there, maybe 20 years after that event. The cafe site has been retained as a memorial to the people killed. Beautiful part of the world, but not a very nice place to be . . . 😞

obviously nothing is 100%, there would be a lot of stuff getting through, but our customs get most of it we do have a VERY large coastline, so a number of drugs come that way, in remote areas, although there have been some very big busts of drugs coming through ports in shipping containers etc...
