Allflex website ordering- Crap of the first order

Is it just me, or is this possibly the worst online ordering website about? :poop: Complete pants, long winded and convoluted and crap checksum processing. Support in the site is u/s and then when I try to order over the phone instead, I get the dreaded " Your call is important to us, but no...

    Groundswell Camping

Just been having a nosey at this year's offerings. Looks tasty... and a fair number of TFF inhabitatants peaking again. Is it compulsory to camp in the "designated" zone? Camping Camping Passes are required for those camping on the nights 25th, 26th and 27th inclusive and are the same price if...

Weaning lambs off cold ad-lib milk

Got two pens of lambs now and neither lot were at all keen on the creep pellets in front of them. I have now changed to a coarse mix, as I used to use for calves in the same situation, as it is more palatable and appealing. Clean water available, at all times, never drunk I've dropped the...

    Quail feeding for egg production

Sprog One has bought and incubated a small batch of Quail that have been parked with us... These are (apparently) larger birds than some strains and are kept for egg laying. About 4 weeks old now and growing like weeds. At the moment, they are still on chick crumbs, but there is now...

    Jabbing a ewe, post lambing.

Been the course of discussion yesterday. If jabbing a ewe post lambing with more "extensive" assistance delving around inside, what routine do folks use? I tend to go one Alamycin LA , one jab of Metacam. Other guy said 3 AB jabs, 2-3 days apart. One Metcam.

    Fert applications

With a supreme bout of optimism, I walked a couple of my grass fields today as I thought, foolishly as it turned out, that maybe I could travel with the baby compact tractor and the even smaller single rotor disc spreader. 100kg at a time. It really would be great to spin a bit of fert on to get...

    Feeding ewes post-lambing?

Having to keep a few too many ewes and lambs about at present, but plenty of fodder still and enough shelter, at present. On Haylage or good Hay with ad-lib molasses and ewe nuts. Not ideal, as Dr Green is aim ASAP, but how many grams for a 60kg ewe and 2-3 lambs? 2-300g/lamb/day?

    Powdered Lamb milk?

For the past couple of years, I was using an Irish origin lamb milk powder, whose brand name escapes me*, made with ewes milk. Super product on the lambs, mixed well and no brown crap settling out in minutes like the Volac stuff. How Volac can be used in an ad-lib situation escapes me, when it...

    Herbal Ley survival?

I was walking one of my "herbal leys" yesterday, and it looks as if the herb constituent has given up the ghost, bar a bit of white clover. The wet winter with the heavy clay lying wet for weeks on end is not conducive to the ley's survival I find. The easier land has seen a better success long...

    Box section inserts

I have a load of 75mm box section steel, galvanised and then powder coated. I have a project in mind, but do not want to weld so as to preserve the protection. I am sure I have seen hollow steel inserts for giving 90 degree angles and also a 90 + 90 for a corner piece and upstand for creating...

    Downspout diverter

I am well familar with the kit for attaching to domestic downspouts to divert water into a butt. Work well and very useful. I have a new barn with central downspouts either end off the 6" guttering, and would like to harvest the water for the stock through a pair of IBC's over winter. Has...

    Molasses... again

My supply will not keep me going until end of lambing this time and my usual supplier (and competitor) only want 5t drops. Any recommendation for a company that will deliver smaller loads, say 2 IBC's worth, or will allow collection with IBC's? Am based North of Telford. I can get a couple of...

    Dexter Cow for sale.

Sweet long legged Red cow, not longer have a bull on the place so surplus to requirements. DoB May 2017, so good for 3-4 more calves easy based on my experience of the breed. Last two calvings have been to a Hereford bull. Good Mum, placid and was apparently halter trained. Super little bag...
