Somebody told me that there were some figures quoted in the Farmers Weekly recently of just over £4 for the baling and £7 for 6 layers of wrap and £6 for 4 layers
Is that about right?
What Individual prices should it this year for:
1. Baling 120 x120 round bale silage including net and diesel and all the chopping knives in the baler?
2. Separate (non-fusion) Wrapping in-field with six layer of wrap, including the wrap and the diesel?
My Dad always used to say that there is nothing to fear from a Labour government and that they grow Money at Farming.
I have never voted for them, but I sure as feck will not vote Tory again either!
They and the NFU have turned a profession I have loved to be a part all my life of into...
No. I‘m saying that the strong impression I’m left with is that it wasn’t RT who had instructed him to fail a certain percentage instead of just those who hadn’t attained the correct standards and that this examiner took it upon himself.
We all know that if they look deep enough they could...
I don’t know if or how many of the others did write or complain to RT. I certainly did.
My (senior) examiner was very embarrassed by it. He certainly thinks the whole system is flawed when such things happen.
When I complained to RT that my second examiner was deliberately trying to fail me, I...
Fortunately I do have some that is actually in ear too.
In fact the other end of that field, which is more medium type land. Though there is still a flooded bit about 20 metres in diameter at that end too!
But it just goes to show what can happen when all the rain and weight of water on heavy...
Correct.
However, you get some who should be thrown off the farm immediately:
I used to write a Farmer Focus column in FW. The 2nd inspector I had got out of his car introduced himself and asked that if he failed us on any non-conformance, would I be mentioning his name in FW?
Like an idiot I...
Yes, I’ve seen it in dry years. But it is far worse in wet ones here.
Seems no matter what we do, some will get round it and I think that what got round it will easily do so again.
It is this rather than it mutating that is the fastest way for it to thrive.
On top of which condition in which the...
I had 3 fields in a Countryside Stewardship’s GS4 Herb and Legume rich pasture for 5 years and the BG is still there.
I haven’t ploughed it (yet), having DD’d it twice with wheat and was it was supposed to come Winter Beans this time round, but was too wet to plant.
I drilled it with Spring...
Apologies.
What else is so good and worth watching that you can ration yourself to one/night?
Surely not the Eurovision Song Contest?
Best not to mention the word Hanomag then!
For those still trying to watch one episode each night, you’ll find out tonight.
Will we now see a surge in female...
Having watched the entire series 3, I reckon it is the best so far.
Less deliberate tomfoolery and some serious issues shown.
The competition between Jeremy and Kaleb was a good one.
However, had Kaleb’s Durum wheat not raised its hagberg to 160 from 133 in storage and the Mill not lowered its...
My Dad always used to say if you cannot make up your mind whether to roll or not, do it and you’ll always be right.
That was in East Anglia.
Here in the North Cotswolds on the heavy Warwickshire clay, the reverse is true!
Without a shadow of any doubt!
Men courting their ladies would take them down to the bean fields of an evening when they were in flower.
Nobody has ever managed to bottle that smell.
But if they could, it’d be worth a fortune!
