Confessions of the Sheep/Beef Cattle/Pig Addicts

Maybe nothing official, but when he's munching your biscuits during an RT inspection, you might need an alibi.

AgOpenGPS RTK Autosteer, How to Guide for £1000

Yes, I did think that. Solution becoming apparent - DIY. Where to host it though?

AgOpenGPS RTK Autosteer, How to Guide for £1000

One big advantage of being Windows-based is that it's relatively easy to have things like the config files back up automatically. Even if you haven't, you hopefully have another 'good' profile that you can start again from and change the implement settings. Back them all up in windows before...

Yes, Romano. I remembered you'd built one, but not that phone signal was such a barrier. Driving tramlines today using the 80km away base, the error was circa 1m from when they were mapped using the closer base. I wasn't expecting such deviation. Mind, that was the N-S lines; the E-W runs...

AgOpenGPS RTK Autosteer, How to Guide for £1000

Yes. I have also concluded the rtkdata listing for the local one is a ghost as they copy from rtk2go. It says on data that it's hosted by 2go. Back to the further one now, 16 sats in common, if I read it correctly. I wonder is it @DrDunc as he hails from that way, north of Biggar/Peebles?

Servicing this slurry pump mec 8000l. Help needed??

Try emptying it and flushing it with diesel. If the new oil still comes up dirty, maybe there's dirty water/slurry getting in somewhere.

Servicing this slurry pump mec 8000l. Help needed??

If you mean the main reservoir for the vanes, just pull the supply hose off the little pump at the back. The tank should drain if you remove the dipstick to let air in. Front gearbox will have a drain plug.

It looks like we were both using same base. I'll be trying it tomorrow via rtkdata. I was using the Peebles one on Sunday; worked OK, but not going to be as accurate 50 miles away.

Did a load at £300. July - sept, 30 days payment. Thomas Bell. That was before seeing wheat dive :banghead:

Half my straw is needed before Christmas. November is usually the killer month - often damp, well stocked and cattle that get dirty won't clean up before they meet their destiny.

Bit of a palaver with mine, as they wouldn't accept the Lantra certificate without a new one in block format. Another hour and £20 wasted.

Seems OK, I was pointing the finger at rtk2go when no rtk available, but it appears the local base has disappeared. Using one further afield for now. Where's that base station thread?

I know it's not AOG specific, but is there any tell that the accuracy is compromised by the solar activity? Land just dry enough for a steering tuning session, but would it be a waste of time today?

    Controlling groundsel?

Never been much of an issue before, but rampant in thin/bare wheat. 3-way SU last Sunday and it twisted up in 3/4 days. Nervous that it was the Starane also in the tank that's done it and the SU won't get a chance to nail it. Didn't expect such a fast effect...

    Couple of concrete panel questions

From experience, only fit 4" where there is no possibility of telehandler access. Some '4"' are only 3.5.

Confessions of the Sheep/Beef Cattle/Pig Addicts

That's where it gets dodgy if you have someone following the book. On a productive livestock farm chances are that the samples say no need for K, so no reason to spread organic manure in their eyes. Good job you've just documented that muck for straw deal.

P can get marginal here at times. Can't stop it walking out the gate. An artic load of one of those burnt bonemeal products every few years is the current tactic. I like the idea of returning the minerals.
