    AB15 poor establishment

So, planted 30 odd ha of Ab15 last autumn, about half has established well, while the remainder is poor and patchy. I’ve a mind to just go with the poor bits, and mow in accordance with the rules, and hope for the best. Have the seed invoices and records of drilling etc. Anyone else in/ been in...

Too cold to sow legumes ?

Thinking of sowing my spring NUM3 this weekend. Vetch, Buckwheat Phacellia, linseed and clover. Is it still too cold ? I’m in Sussex, so pretty far south) Thinking if I leave it much later it will struggle to flower and meet the aims . Also, conditions look to be pretty good for drilling on...

    Luximo and flufenacet

Did a comparison with luximo against crystal + hurricane. So far crystal looking as good as, if not better.

Black bean aphids on beans, worth controlling now?

Routine applications of any insecticide will eventually lead to resistance, happened with fb, only a matter of time before aphids become uncontrollable with insecticide

    Chopping or dropping

Selling most of ours. Rape doesn’t like a seed bed full of straw, and we don’t have the kit to properly incorporate yet, plus the local farmers are willing to pay the price.

    T3 and rain

Yep, that pretty much agrees with what I’m trying to convince myself of 👍 !! It’s been 3 or 4 hours of on and off light rain/ drizzle, amounting to 0.8mm, hopefully the leaf will dry and I can empty the tank shortly 🤞

    T3 and rain

So, will light rain (0.5mm drizzley stuff) immediately after application of a teb and strob have ballsed it up ?? Asking for a friend 🙄

    Anyone bought fert

Bought 2/3 of mine, sold some wheat forward at 310 to cover it, and that was wrong, as 2 days later India put the price up ! 😂😂

    Ab15 mowing again

Probably a daft question, but will vetch and clover suffer if cut frequently while flowering ? The black grass is re heading every couple of weeks now, so needs to be cut, but I’m fearful of ending up with no legumes through continuous mowing. If anyone jas any experience of growing this stuff...

    Syngenta and Elatus

Putting different products in the same box with almost identical cans, cannot be described as a good idea in my book. Just been emptying the boxes and stacking cans separately for tonight’s spray evening

    Syngenta and Elatus

What on earth makes Syngenta think that putting Mirror and Elatus in the same box is a good idea ??

    Simtech tsem and beans

Second wheat direct drilled with Simtech late November, into our wettest field we couldn’t get near with our usual method! An experiment that helped me make my decision!

    Simtech tsem and beans

Yes, they came well from my little late November trial plot ! Yes, moving away from spinning them on and ploughing them in. Want to see how direct drilling fares, so figured the Simtech was a good starting point, as the grant pays for half ! Seems like a no brainier to me ! Will add a pic of...
