Final one lambed
A whooping 9.5kg. Luckily I was passing her. Would of been dead. Took a bit of getting going. A full 10days after the ram was out so I’d say over cooked. Sucks like a vacuum tanker.
The last 6 were scanned as single and all bar this one had twins, a nice bonus end for a...
Absolute rubbish. You’ve just had too much going on. This winter found out any ewe that wasn’t quite upto it. I’ve a field full of ewes I’m feeding because their too thin.
You definitely aren’t the only one thinking, enough of this. My advise, wean, be totally honest with yourself and cull...
Or the ewe that slipped 2 tiny lambs a month early and however much you look you can’t work out which one Until there she is, in the twin pen at the end, so fat she looks in lamb and you’ve completely forgotten that she should be somewhere.
Surely the flocks making enough to hire in some help for days like that. Double fill race and you’d wiz through. I make that about 7000 lamb treatments.
I absolutely admire your work ethic but sometimes it’s better to work clever not hard.
Was going to take some culls to Cirencester today and...
Is that allied weighing load bars and sorry if you already know this but don’t bolt the load bars feet down tight. They need a bit of give. That’s why the likes of TruTest have rubber feet if they are bolted down.
Rappa race crate back one opens into the crate. Ones behind can push it open but they rarely do. Good job. There will be a lot of satisfaction if it works well first.
Sorry to hear. These small groups can be a gamble. Bought a pen of 8 3/4texel shearlings. Not as bad as you but I think the owner knew which ones to sell.
last year I put a footbath in the the Rappa trailer race for a few out lying groups. Put plenty of straw in and they flew through following their Mums much to my amazement. I think it was beca they had to jump up to follow so couldn’t see into the footbath. Hoping this years will be the same.
Talking of positive, someone’s just phoned wanting to harvest the dandelion seed from one of my fields if the wind doesn’t get them first. Don’t know whether to be happy that its an extra £50 acre or embarrassed that they are that bad someone thinks their worth harvesting :banghead:
